WE ARE STORYTELLERS
Te Rua & Son’s is a Māori-owned, whānau-run (family) business located on the South Island’s Arahura West Coast of Aotearoa, New Zealand.
We are storytellers, guardians, and guides, sharing our seasonal food gathering practices, tribal histories, and family connections to our resources, particularly the pounamu and gold.
We uphold the values that underpin our business - Manaakitanga and Kaitiakitanga, and the Physical and Spiritual forces that bind our world together.
The rivers and surrounding tributaries have always provided us with our physical sustenance, creating our bonds to the land as a people and individuals.
The pounamu instils our spiritual wellbeing, passed down from generation to generation, connecting our past to the future.

Inaka
A 3-hour experience that will take you on a beautiful hīkoi (walk) along the awe-inspiring awa.
Te Nikau
This is a half-day experience that includes the river walk, a marae visit, and a shared traditional hāngi to finish.
